Ekroth makes surprise move to Caterham

Ekroth, who previously announced his retirement from a permanent race seat made a surprise move to Caterham earlier today. He comments on the deal:

Since Lotus has temporarily withdrawn from racing until the permanent driver seats are filled, we have been discussing back and forth about what I should do, and since Caterham are fully committed to the season, we managed to seal a deal where I am still with Lotus but "on temporary loan" to Caterham, so to speak. It will be interesting to try out the car for the first time in Malaysia. It feels good to be back with my former partner in crime too, Hasse. The year we had at Honda back in 2009 was a great experience, so I feel happy to hopefully be able to contribute to the team's success.

Tony Fernandes, team principal

It feels great to have secured such an experienced driver to help us out with testing, an area where I feel we are a bit behind this year. We believe the car has a lot of potential, and with three resources working on it, we hope to unlock its full power as soon as we can.
